KIDS TREATMENT OPTIONS

Oldham Orthodontics

KIDS

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends kids see an orthodontist
before 7 years old. This is when permanent teeth begin to come in and orthodontic problems can become apparent. Different problems can include an overbite, underbite, cross bite or crowding.

Dr. Oldham offers complimentary annual assessments to follow your child's growth, bite, and hygiene until treatment (appliances or good ol' braces) begins.

If you have any concerns or just want to see how little Suzy's teeth are developing, give us a call to schedule your free assessment.

OBSERVATION

Most children do not require immediate treatment. For these guys, Dr. Oldham will "watch" their teeth to monitor development. We are parents too, and we want to give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your child's jaw and tooth development is on track.

PHASE ONE

This is when sweet Suzy actually needs early orthodontics. Dr. O seeks to prevent serious future problems with prudent intervention to guide growth and development. These interventions can include:

  • early extraction of baby teeth

  • palatal expansion

  • appliances to correct improper jaw growth

Phase One is usually followed by a resting period to allow all permanent teeth to erupt.
